Challenge energy companies to help customers find better deals

Around 16 million UK households are paying over the odds for their energy bills. They are being stuck on standard variable tariffs (SVTs) – usually the most expensive deals. After years of inflation-busting price hikes, dire customer service and falling levels of trust, people expect to see big improvements from their energy suppliers. It’s the industry’s last chance saloon.

Sign our petition to demand energy companies help those struggling to pay their energy bills this winter.

We’re asking all energy companies to:

– Publish a plan by the end of January on how they will engage with SVT customers to help them move; and

– Give us details of the immediate activity being taken this winter with these customers.

This plan should be CEO-endorsed and include details on timescales for the activity, setting out information about the trial and test methods, as well as how they will evaluate successes and learnings. Sign the petition now.

When energy companies publish their plan to do the right thing, we’ll update this table:

Table showing British Gas, EDF, Eon, First Utility, Npower, Ovo, SSE, Scottish Power, the Cooperative Energy and Utility Warehouse have yet to publish their plan.
