Monday 11 September marks the beginning of a week of nuisance calls awareness for our Scottish supporters in areas blighted by nuisance calls.
We’ll be in Glasgow at Glasgow Central Station on Monday 11 September between 7am and 7pm distributing helpful advice on how to avoid and report nuisance calls and scams. Our team of experts will be on hand to answer any questions and show you how you can get involved by signing our petition. We’ll also be letting you know how you can help protect vulnerable friends and relatives.
We’ll then be doing it all again on Thursday 14 September when we’ll be meeting the people of Aberdeen at Aberdeen Station between 7am and 7pm.
Between those dates, on Wednesday 13 September, our campaigners will be briefing MSPs in the Scottish Parliament; meeting, greeting and demonstrating just how our work and efforts by our supporters have helped bring about change.
This campaigning work was a result of our research into nuisance calls in Scotland. We found, for example, that nine out of ten Scots have received a call on their landline meaning three quarters of them have felt discouraged from answering the telephone. Understandably, nine out of ten also believe nuisance calls are an annoying interruption.
If you live in Glasgow or Aberdeen and want to find out more about nuisance calls please stop by our stalls at the cities to talk to us and collect more information.
